We are also happy to say that most of our customers are even those who manufacture gears like many of our competitors. We can cater to your needs, and we can handle all your gear spline shaft requirements. We can handle the manufacture of gear grinding and gear hobbing tasks for bevel gears.
What Are the Types of Bevel Gears?
Bevel gears are a type of gears that serve as the intersection of the axes of the two shafts. For bevel gears, the faces with teeth are conically shaped. These gears are basically mounted on shafts that are separated by a 90-degree angle although it can work at other degrees too. The pitch surface of all types of bevel gears is set as a cone.
Meanwhile, here are the various types of bevel gears.
- Straight bevel gears – This type of bevel gears have a pitch surface shaped like a cone. It also has straight teeth that are tapered toward the apex.
- Spiral bevel gears – This type of bevel gears have curved teeth that have a smooth and gradual contact.
- Zerol bevel gears – These bevel gears are spiral bevel gears that have curved teeth. However, the spiral angle of zero makes the teeth ends align with the axis. Moreover, the middle of each tooth forms a circumference about the gear.
- Hypoid bevel gears – This type of bevel gears are like the spiral bevel but it has hyperbolic pitch surfaces, not conical ones. This type is commonly used in rear axles of cars.
- Mitre gears – They are bevel gears with an even number of teeth. They position its shafts at right angles. The pitch surfaces and angles are similar. The pitch surface is conical. Moreover, mitre gears transmit rotational motion at a right angle at the ratio of 1:1.
