High pressure rigid laminates is produced by multiple layers of B-stage substrate under heat and pressure. In most cases, sheets of high pressure are being made in bulk. Curing of the material may take for about two to four hours to strengthen the sheets. Since it has been made strong enough to exhibit a substantial material for mechanical devices, it has been proven the best for some machines like bearings, clamps, switch gear and transformer coil supports. Some of the things that you may also need to know is the purpose of the laminate to each product which needs high pressure kind. Few are also Kraft paper based and general purpose paper which are resistant to any melamine surface. Materials like glass cloth laminate with high temperature version of glass is used for terminal boards for transformers, coil supports, and circuit breakers. Mica based laminate also serve as a rigid high pressure laminate which are used for some resistor insulators, fuse element supports, and dry type transformer insulation.
The low pressure rigid laminates are materials which are based on substrate material and glass mat. It is being filled with polyester resin, a type of synthetic glue that is for low resistant type of machines. These are most likely being pressed and cured under heat and pressure. These laminates only has shorter period of manufacture time unlike high pressure ones. Because of these, they are less expensive and only used for some electrical and mechanical material and some of the components that are being added to the product cannot be measured due to some application that may be engineered with less design. Some materials like GPO 1 grades laminates are an example of low pressured rigid. These laminates may also have good design boards and standard angles and channels that are suited for structural applications. Furthermore, these kind also has the dielectric properties that is of excellent high temperature grades that you may also use for your bus bar supports, fuse boards and terminal strips.
