Getting the raw material
There are many materials involved in the formation of the foam. The materials are different when different type of foams is made so this is important to make the right decision about the metals used in custom foam fabrication.
Making blocks
When the materials are in hand, there is need to get the material to form the simple blocks of the foam. Simple blocks are made by the block-making machine. The blocks are the main source which can be used to make the custom shapes and so there is a need that the blocks are done right so that the shapes are made according to demand.
Cutting and shaping
Cutting and shaping is done in the cutting and molding machine. There big blocks are cut on the cutting plate and custom shapes are made. These shapes are made on the order or when the company has made a good shape that is sold easily in the market. The most important of the custom foams are the sheets of different sizes and there are also the pyramids, tetrahedral and oblong shapes that are common. The cutting machines are to cut the foam and there are some machines which will not only cut the foam, but also give it a shape which is called the molding process. In molding the machine has heated plates. These plates will act on the foam and will cut the foam and make certain shape of it by combining cutting and heat molding. It will give us the custom shape foam.
Packing
This is an optional step for companies that have the facility to make custom foams and use them to pack the products or use as they are. There are certain companies that do not have the facility where they will use the foams, but they will have to sell the farm to get profit out of them so they will have to seal the foam and they will need to pack the foam. As these are the custom shaped foams. There is need of making a custom packing so they are mostly wrapped in plastic sheets. The plastic sheets will cover the foam and will also give this protection to the breaking force. This is where the foam will need the protection from breaking force after that the foam will act as the protector of the product when it will reach the company where it will be used to make covering which are product protectors.
