- First, you should make sure that you guide your posts. You can do this by getting a single strand of any plain wire and simply running it from one of the straining post to the other one that is situated at the end of the line. The wire will be your guide and will give a straight line that you could follow and help decide where to put the intermediate posts. The wire will also make you notice if the ground is not level in any part.
- Avoid using fencing materials that is not necessarily needed. This is one way for you to save money when installing fence. Know what your purpose for fencing and only use the appropriate materials rather than spending on something expensive.
- Tying-off could be a challenge sometimes. The key is giving you more room to work around. You can accomplish this by stripping out the fence’s last vertical wires.
- Before installing your straining posts, make sure that the hole is deep enough for the posts. The straining posts should be able to withstand enough tension caused by the fence line. The posts should be driven around 1.2 meters under to make sure they are firm.
- Long struts are important when installing the posts and it should be placed in a low position. This will ensure that it will resist any force and make the post stay in position. This is one key factor that helps in making sure the fence doesn’t fall down.
- To prepare your fence for any impact, make sure that the crimp is bigger by 50 per cent than its typical size. This also helps in retaining the wire’s elasticity.
- When securing, the fence should be stapled to the posts. It is ideal that barbed staples should be used instead if the plain one. Barbed staples will not pull out as easily.
- When choosing your fence, always choose the one with high tensile strength. Mild steel mesh has a lower tensile strength.
- Choose longer rolls in order to avoid too much joints and to save installation time. Longer fencing is much harder to handle by hands but it is available in various lengths.
- When securing your fence against a post, don’t drive the staples tightly onto the wire as it may damage the wire’s galvanizing and therefore reduce the life of the material.
- To ensure tension is evenly distributed along the fence line, it is ideal to use a straining clamp.
