Using an ev charger to make a car run is a great alternative to using a gas pump. Charging an electric vehicle provides a unique experience as compared to pumping gas. An ev charger takes less time, avoids breathing hazardous fumes, not to mention it gives the convenience you need.
Level 1
This process involves charging your vehicle into a standard outlet. Usually, it makes it possible for you to drive 4.5 miles per hour of charging, or an equivalent of up to 22 hours per full charge. If you only need about 40 miles or 9 hours of driving every day, you can charge your car overnight and get a full charge in the morning. Not bad for satisfying your driving needs.
While level 1 charging may be too slow for a long road trip, you are able to use your ev charger in a destination charging.
Level 2
Level 2 charging provides 240V, which is similar to what some of your household appliances use such as oven and electric dryer. Level 2 provides different kinds of charging speeds up to 70 miles per hour.
Just like level 1 charging, level 2 gives household electricity to your vehicle. Make sure you have access to a charging station so you can charge your car as you park it and do other important things.
DC Fast Charging
It is considered the fastest way to charge your electric vehicle. It is capable of delivering up to 40 miles of driving for about 10 minutes of charging. Note that the stations that provide DC fast charging it quite expensive as it requires to use more electrical power.
It is beneficial to have an understanding of electric vehicles and ev chargers. Driving on longer trips from time to time can help you determine if an electric vehicle is suitable for you.
