This type of configuration is usually use when the sheet material to be cut is flat yet very thick. In the event that melted material needs to be removed, this type of laser system comes with a special accessory that can be fitted onto the system.
- The second type of laser configuration used is called the flying optics. In this type of configuration, the table where the material is place is in stationary position while the laser head is the one moving along two axes. In short, this is the exact opposite of the moving material configuration. These types are considered to be more costly because the laser head used is not just one but two, meaning electrical power consumption is greater. This also needs to be carefully calibrated and the operator must be a trained professional.
- The third and the last configuration are called the hybrid and it is also the most common used. This is basically the combination of the two previous configurations mentioned above. Both of the parts, the material table and the laser head have the ability to move.
