For the power source, there are three categories:
- Manual Mills. This is the best choice for someone who loves to do the actual work with his own hands, with enough energy and athletic nature. It takes a great deal of discipline in order to operate this one especially the type with large flywheel. This is also great for the flour because not too much heat will be generated which can sometimes damage the nutrients in the product.
- Electric Mills. If you are the type who wants to do the grinding without much effort and less time, the electric powered ones are the right one for you. The only downside of this type is that it can’t be used in case of power outages which if seldom happens in your place then is not a big deal. Good news is that you can get the best ones of this type without breaking the bank. It will do all the dirty work and all you have to do is keep it after.
- Convertible Mills. This is the hybrid type of mills which is commonly used by manufacturers to make sure that production goes on no matter what. It can be used with electricity and it can also operate manually which is perfect in cases of power outages.
- Impact Mills. The grain is grinded with the help of teeth embedded on two flat head made of stainless steel that spins against each other. The mechanism of this machine uses the method of hammering instead of grinding. Use in order to produce fine flours and not coarse ones.
