Indoor Air Quality
One of the things to consider when you are thinking about Air Duct Cleaning Equipment and vent cleaning is the fact that it improves the quality of airs indoor. This is due in part to eh high efficiency doors, windows and increased insulation which reduce the amount of air that is transferred between inside and outside. Though these fixtures are great when reducing energy costs and making a room much comfortable, they are not supplemented with additional ventilation which cause pollutant that enter the house to remain inside instead of being leaked out through drafty gaps and windows. The verdict is not on whether or not vent and duct cleaning will be going to improve the quality of air indoor in every situation. Though there is literature to support either side of this issue, one will know that in certain cases, vent and duct cleaning is likely to remove and find harmful fungus, molds and microbes from a system which is infected. At the very least, vent and duct cleaning will not do your house any harm and there is a chance that it can actually increase the quality of your air indoors.
How Vent and Duct Cleaning Works
There are actually two ways when cleaning ducts and vents. One system is connected to the ducting in order to provide suction. A highly pressurized air hose is passed through the ducting in order to remove the particles coming from the interior. The other system makes use of large specialized vacuum which are attached to a brushing and a hose system which runs through the ducting. Both of the systems are effective when operated by professionals or properly trained people. Proper cleaning should include as follows: inside the ducting, cleaning of all registers as well as the interior of the ventilating and heating system.
The furnace fan should also be cleaned and if ever you have a heat pump or air conditioning system, the coils inside the system should also be thoroughly cleaned. And then finally, a disinfectant can be fogged on the cleaned system in order to eliminate any bacteria, mold and dust mites that can remain. Proper cleaning of homes should take a minimum of four hours and is dependent on the size of the house. If the home has more than one cooling and heating system or if the system is located on the roof, it may take longer.
