Steps in grilling the best steak:
Step 1
Leave the steaks at room temperature. You might want to trim fats that are in excess and those that you do not want to present in the steak. After trimming, allow the steak to rest for approximately 30 minutes. Be mindful to maintain the room temperature. When you place a cold steak atop a heated grill, it will not create the sear that you want on your steak. That is why this instruction is very important. After the steaks are left in room temperature, it is now time to season the steaks using pepper, garlic powder and salt.
Step 2
Get the right sear on your steak. Heat the grill beforehand for about 10 minutes. In order to get the right sear, you need to preheat the grill. After preheating the grill, you can now place the steaks on top of the grill, close the lid and then allow the steak to have a sear for two minutes. Make use of a timer to time you’re cooking to perfection. After two minutes have elapsed, you can now flip the steaks over. When you flipped the meat, close the lid for another two minutes.
Step 3
Cook the steak according to your desired temperature. After the two minutes on each side, turn the temperature of the grill down to low or medium low. Remember that grills operate differently and it might take you some time to practice in order to bring the grill to the right temperature. Be patient and soon you will master.
Flip the steak again for the one last time. Now, place the lid and allow the meat to cook for approximately 4 minutes in order to come up with a medium rare steak. After searing both sides for two minutes, you can cook both sides for approximately 3 minutes in order to have a rare steak. A medium steak is accomplished when cooking the meat while closing the lid for about 5 minutes. If you make it to 6 minutes, you will have a medium well food product. A well steak is cooked within 7 minutes while the lid is closed.
