- Look for signs of belt mistracking or misalignment.
- Check for any wear and damage at loading and transfer points.
- Check for any increase of drive amperage levels since a rise of amperage level can be caused by unlubricated or failed bearings.
- Notice any material buildup that usually occurs on the snub pulleys, belt rollers and return idlers.
- Keep chute and skirting areas free from obstruction.
- Make sure that all components do not slip out of alignment thus keep everything positioned properly.
- Keep all pillow block bearings properly lubricated according to the manufacturer’s instruction.
- Always replace motor brushes when needed or as instructed by the manufacturer.
- Make sure that conveyor guards and covers are placed properly.
- Keep your belt scrapers in good condition. Otherwise, replace it if applicable.
