The search on how to polish stainless steel flatware has been around for centuries. However, polishing them does not have to be so tedious and time-consuming. Many might be surprised, including you perhaps, to know that sanding with about 400 to 600 grit sandpaper can address the deep scratches without damaging the surrounding surfaces of your stainless steel cutlery. But before you try any cleaning product on your utensils, test some on an area that can’t be readily seen. You can use an electric polisher or you can try the old-fashioned way of polishing. Combine vinegar and a drop of dishwashing liquid into a spray bottle while sprinkling some baking soda onto the scratched area. Then spray the vinegar solution into the affected area and buff out using a soft cloth. If you want a perfect and sparkling clean, soak your flatware in the solution with baking soda and leave them there overnight. Rinse off the next day to a high shine and enjoy your looking brand-new cutlery.
