#1. Tools for air washing
This level of air duct cleaning involves the use of various tools, including an air hose or rod, air nozzle, blowgun, copper tube, the air compressor, and a receiver tank. All of these tools and accessories work together to provide the desired air washing productivity. The major cleaning media used by this method is the high-pressure air supplied by the air compressor delivered through an air hose or rod.
#2. Tools for air whipping
The air whip system also consists of similar air duct cleaning tools as air washing and uses the same high-pressure air supplied by the air compressor. The only difference is that it has a whip head, either a single or octopus whip head. It gives the whipping action that blows more forceful air into the ductwork, dislodging dirt and debris buildup. It somehow works like a duct cleaning rods but with the agitation of the whip head.
#3. Tools for brushing
Brush cleaning systems use different sizes and types of brush for the specific kind of ductwork and condition. Nylon brushes are generally used for any duct surfaces. For more aggressive cleaning of hard ductwork surfaces, silica carbide brushes are used. The brush is being attached to the other end of the cable and inserted into the duct to be cleaned. Then the trigger of a portable drill is pulled to power the brush and use it to clean the interior of the ductwork.
#4. Tools for contact vacuuming
Duct cleaning rods is the major tool used by this system. A hose is connected to the vacuum which supplies the air needed to clean the surface of the duct. The cleaner air will reach as far as possible through the ductwork to remove as much dirt and debris as possible.
