One of the major concerns for any contractor laying out an aerial cable is avoiding snagging and damaging the cable during the activity. One of the tools used to prevent this issue is the cable pulling grip.
The cable pulling grip is able to hold on to the cable while being installed or removed from the conduit or duct. There are specific ways in order to establish this hold over the cable during installation. The following steps are conducted prior to the installation activity:
- Mapping. This is the first action to be done in any installation activity. The mapping out involves determining the type of application to be done and the idiosyncrasies of the particular lay out. This would mean looking at the ins and outs of the layout, whether indoors or outdoors as well as the kind of cable to be laid out. Once mapped out, all the possible issues would be identified and addressed.
- Equipment. The mapped out activity would then require specific equipment in order to complete it. This would include the type of cable pulling grip that need to be used for the activity. While there are several types of cable pulling grips, as well as swivel eyes to be used during the activity.
Aside from the actual cable pulling grip, the company would provide accessories for the maximum efficient use. These accessories would include electronic meters as well as tension measurement devices.
