- Plain weave. This is the most commonly used weave mesh. The openings in this weave are square. The weft wires are passes alternately under and over each of the warp wire and then vice versa. The diameters of the warp and weft wires are usually the same. The plain weave mesh is available with apertures ranging from 10.7mm up to .05mm. The plain weave is suitable for various commercial applications.
- Twill-square weave. This type of weave mesh is much stronger compared to the plain weave. Every weft wire is made to cross over two wires then under two warp wires which produce a diagonal pattern. Like the plain weave, the diameter for both the weft and the warp wire that is used is categorically the same. The twill-square weave is typically used in order to accommodate a much heavier than the standard wire diameter. Those materials with specifications finer than 300 are usually twill-square woven.
- Hollander Weave. This type of weaving is somewhat a plain weave but the diameter of the warp wires used is much larger than the weft wires. The Hollander weave is composed of only a limited number of wires which are warped and are interwoven. The cloth produced after weaving the material together is usually firm and strong and is commonly used in high pressure filtration.
Ever wonder what are the uses of mesh? Below are some of the common uses of the mesh.
- Security fencing. You can use a mesh for security reasons. This particular type of fencing is used as a perimeter wall or a security fence. It can also be used for residential, industrial, or commercial installations. This type of material is usually used when fencing houses and in order to enhance the aesthetic look of the exterior fencing wall as well. The type of mesh used in securing homes comes in varied sizes ranging from 5mm holes to 7mm holes. You need to consider your requirement and preference before choosing the wire fence mesh for your property. Keep in mind that there are also wire fence meshes that have tiny openings which effectively prevents finger or toe holds.
- Animal fencing. Another common use of the wire mesh fence is in fencing animals or livestock. The wire mesh fence comes in various hole-sizes. With this feature, you can choose a big-holed or small-hold fencing. Make sure that you make the right choice in order to properly fence in your animals. This fencing is used when fencing rabbits, in chicken coops, and horse fencing. This type of fencing material is safe in fencing animals because it does not have any sharp edges.
