- Uprights. These are the vertical beams which supports the arm.
- Base. The uprights connect to the base with the use of bolts which provides overall stability and support so that the upright will be able to bear the load.
- Braces. The braces support and connect the uprights, creating rigidity as well as strength to the cabinet system.
You can use the mullion cabinet doors in different ways. It can either be arranged in single or double cabinet style. You can also choose from back to back forming aisles or you can opt to place it against a wall. Some equipment that is helpful but not necessary includes:
- Counter balance forklifts. These forklifts are the cheapest equipment when it comes to long load handling solutions. They will require sturdy storage cabinets that the long loads can be handled well. Large and wide designed doors are also required when handling long load transportation from indoors to outdoors efficiently and safely. Although they can be the lowest option solution, they also have significant limitations when it comes to storage area, safety and handling times.
- Side loader forklifts. These forklifts have been popular in the past since they handle well long loads. They were the first forklifts that were designed for long load handling. They also allow the operator in handling loads sideways which allows for narrower aisles and a greater space for storage. The side loaders also have platforms around the forklift in order to stabilize the load so as to ensure long load handling. The popularity of the side loader has declined because of more advanced forklift systems which has taken its place as the king when it comes to long load handling.
- Multi-directional forklifts. These forklifts are able to drive in different directions which allows for an improved mullion cabinet door space while at the same time providing important increases in handling times. The operator will be able to maneuver the long loads with greater accuracy and precision.
When it comes to storing long loads, it will come down to only two options which are as follows: mullion cabinet doors or mdf cabinet doors. If you use floor stacking, the capital investment is usually lower but actual storage and efficiently can also be low. Mullion cabinet doors on the other hand will require considerable amount of investment for capital and will require much planning. However, it can dramatically improve the productivity of the facility as well as its handling times while at the same time increasing the storage capacity.
